Jake Cody is the most recent poker player to be added to the PKRs team of players that they sponsor. Cody is a triple crown winning poker star who has won over $3 million playing poker. Ben Lamb would flop quad kings to eliminate a crippled Matt Giannetti in 4th place. Play would resume Tuesday night and Ben Lamb would table a King Jack VS Martin Staszkos 77. Martin Staszko would fade the board and take on Pokerstars pro Pius Heinz. Pius Heinz would inch up and eventually overtake Staszko for the chip lead. Online poker has been having a rocky ride in the United States, with the federal authorities doing their utmost to shut down many of the main online poker operations in the Black Friday crackdown. It has been some time since an online poker site has officially issued some positive news for residents of the United States, and finally, Merge Poker is the online poker site to do so. Merge Poker stopped allowing players located in the United States to play at its online poker site about six months ago. The online poker site has recently opened its online doors to those located in the United States once again. After the events of Black Friday, when many online poker sites were closed down, Merge Poker, a site that was not targeted by the United States federal authorities, simply could not handle the number of players from the United States that wanted to play poker at their online poker site. Their online poker tables quickly filled up, and the poker site was simply unable to cope from a software and hardware point of view, resulting in some serious infrastructure and network problems. At the time, because of this, Merge Poker had to close its door to Americans, although it now seems as though the online poker site has done the necessary upgrades to cope with a far larger customer base, and are once again available in the United States. While US players may now play at this online poker site, those who are located in Washington, New York, Louisiana, Missouri, and Maryland are not welcome to do so. At the same time that Merge Poker opening up for players in the US is good news, it also seems that players should keep an eye on developments. The Merge Poker website was carrying the eCOGRA seal of approval, however, eCOGRAs Andrew Beveridge said that the poker site had not been approved by the organization.
